Before anyone freaks out and worries if I am suicidal, let me put your mind at ease. I am actually more homicidal, but that’s beside the point.
If you have been following along, you will know I kinda hit the wall, as in a big ol’ splat upon said wall. I feel like I am coming out of the pit. Can I get a hallelujah from my readers? Now you will not need Prozac to read along! A simple phrase came to mind this weekend. I am sharing it with you in case you find yourself in a big ol’ pit one day.
Choose life. Sounds simple and very Hallmark-y but I think there is more to this statement than meets the eye. I admit I have been caving lately. I have been in full HIBERNATION mode. If I am honest, it has been something I have needed. I am an extrovert but being so drained, the people part of me just shut down.
As I am coming out of hibernation, I realized the need for life-giving activities. It’s fine to rest but I have to choose my rest wisely because let’s face it, trolling Facebook isn’t all the restful, now is it? This weekend, I had a few choices about what to do with my time. I chose life-giving choices without really even thinking about it. Later, as I was reflecting on my weekend, I felt much happier and able to cope with life. Duh. Such a good reminder and revelation for me.
Here’s my list of life-giving activities (not in any particular order):
- Grab a camera and create.
- Hike/bike/run in nature.
- Hanky-panky with Bean.
- Nap.
- Hanging with my man-cubs.
- Getting lost in a good book.
- Searching for beauty in every day life.
- Music.
What are some of your ways you choose life?

Your list brought me giggles and way too many visuals. 🙂 LOVE this list! And your emphasis behind it!
